Lawn Wrestling

MMMMMMMKAY!!!I'm soo sorry for killing the blog!Something was wrong with the err...whatever you call those thingies in the wall you plug the adsl line into.Yeah, so it kinda deprive me of blogging. And I didn't purposely kill the thing,so let's get down to business.

Here are some things you need to know.Correction for the Handball competition. The first match was ST3 vs SMK Pending @ SMK Agama. So, with the mistake corrected, this is what's been happening while I was away.

Our school started a handball team late last month, and we had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what it was, and our misconceptions about the game are as follows:

i) Handball is lawn bowling
ii) Handball is lawn bowling on concrete
iii)Handball is baskvollesoftnetball
iv) Handball is some finger puppet game played football style
v) Handball is a game for old people, kinda like those with arthritis
vi) Handball is football, played with the hand

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmkay! So, Mr Zaimi called up our school to tell Mr TEo that he wanted to start a handball team and train us for a competition which was 10 days away. So, we went for about 10 days of practices at the St Jude BBALL court and the St Jo Futsal court, in extremely hot weather and heavy rain. After 4 days or so, we kinda got what handball means:

i) Shooting a ball bigger than a softball, smaller than a football.
ii) Passing the ball american football, basketball, volleyball, softball, netball style
iii) Defending the goal post football style, including the wall
iv) Tackling people for the ball
v) Touching waists and arms(ver close to the armpits) to get hold of the ball

So, it's like girlly football, one might say.Well, think again.IT'S AN EXTREMELY ROUGH GAME, PLAYED ON GRASS, MUDDY GRASS, FLOODED FIELDS WITH WORMS,CRAZY GIRLS, SWEATY GIRLS WRESTLING EACH OTHER TO THE GROUND FOR THE BALL,WILD GIRLS THROWING TANTRUMS ON THE FIELD AND THROWING THE BALL EXTREMELY HARD ON THE OPPONENTS LIMBS AND ABDOMENDS, A WHOLE LOT OF PUSHING AND RUNNING!

Here are some...not so brutal photos of our school team :DAY 1

The STAR-some green/yellow/red school was kinda rough, they had more pushing than we did, and the Marians kinda were like gliding and swimming in the field because it was raining really heavily when they played, I couldn't get a video because

i) my camera was running out of space
11)the field was far away from where we were stranded

Day 2:
I was unable to attend the game: ST3 vs Tabuan Jaya

The score was Matang- St3:4-1
We lost the match but Matang and Pending were tied at 3-3 or somehting like that.
Then we tossed the coin and somehow went to quarter finals!I have no idea how that happened.

So, we played against STAR, last year's Champion, and believe me, our school had nearly every other school's support!INCLUDING the Marians! How sweet.

Our team tied the game at 3-3.So, we played for another 15 or was it 30 minutes and STAR scored 1 goal, making them the winner of the match. After the match, our team got reviews from other team's coaches, saying we were a really strong team. Not bad for a 10-days-before-game-beginner team,eh? ST ROCKS!More luck next year!DEFINATELY!!Mr Zaimi must be proud.Well, he SHOULD be!No pictures available, because the official photographer wasn't there...so :P

Anyway, few days ago was the InterSchool choir competition.
Results are:

1) Green Road
2) St May
3) St Teresa

No comment about this event...we weren't even invited to go and watch!HMMMPHHH!!

Coming up next week:
There will be some talk or counselling or whatever it really is that I heard about PBK<<< SCRATCH THAT.It's Universiti Malaya- having this talk for SPM students. The whole of Form5 from St3 will be attending this in the school hall with 100 selected students from St jo joining us.Looking forward to seeing you guys there.
